The role of Ligature-Resistant Design in Behavioral Health

The term ‘ligature-resistant’ describes any object that is designed to reduce the ability of securing a ligature to it. As such, ligature-resistant design plays a crucial role in protecting those who are most vulnerable in behavioral health environments through reducing the risk of self-harm or suicide by use of a ligature.

Best practices within design for behavioral health facilities have greatly improved in recent years through collaborative efforts to create safer environments. Ligature-resistant design is one of the factors that has played a key role in this.

What Our Behavioral Health Partners Say

“I will definitely be recommending Kingsway to my colleagues in the event that they require any doors. Mark Tilbrook, your head of sales, has been both a great source of assistance and very informative. It’s been refreshing to deal with a company rep who is always available at the end of a phone to answer my questions and queries. Well done to him. I have already come back to Kingsway Group to place a 2nd wave of orders.”

“I was very happy with the customer service received as well as the quality of the works. It was on time as promised, and Michael managed the installation very well. The product quality is good as usual and I’m very happy with the way it looks. The lead times were also less than normal which I think is a plus.”
