Early warnings & UI

Early-warning indicators & room activity

KOSMOS continuously analyses live data streams to help staff identify potential signs of patient distress. Factors such as door tampering and frequent opening and closing of the door or vision panel are analysed on a room-by-room basis and presented to staff via a live, visual representation of room activity.

This feature can help staff identify early-warning indicators that an incident may be about to occur, allowing for proactive intervention before a ligature attempt takes place. Further, the room activity display can assist during staff changeover, providing a clear and visual representation of ward activity to new staff on the ward.

Alarm triggering and door isolation

The KOSMOS interface provides live status monitoring for each ligature alarmed doorset within the ward. If a ligature is detected, the KOSMOS interface will display the exact location of the ligature incident and trigger an audible and visual alert to allow for quick clinical response. If a ligature alarmed door has been isolated, e.g. for door maintenance purposes or if a service user has been placed under constant observation, the KOSMOS software will clearly indicate the door alarm is not being monitored. Ward staff can then reactivate the status monitoring when intended.

User friendly interface and bespoke floorplan

The KOSMOS software provides clinical teams with a visual representation of the ward via a bespoke floorplan with a live monitoring interface that clearly displays the alarm status of each ligature alarmed door within the ward.

This data, remotely accessible via the KOSMOS Cloud, can assist management teams in ensuring and documenting due diligence, as well as highlighting potential areas for concern that need to be addressed.

Remotely accessible, secure data via the KOSMOS Cloud

The complete audit trail of data is uploaded daily to the KOSMOS Cloud; a secure and remotely accessible online portal in which the Trust or facility can review, filter and export data.

Fault detection and testing reminders

With life-critical systems it is vital that any faults are promptly detected and rectified. KOSMOS monitors its own network and can detect faults within the system, whilst built-in reminders let staff know when to test the alarmed doors within the ward.

Kingsway Group provide full training to staff on KOSMOS to ensure its functions are completely understood. Bespoke training will be provided as well as online resources, including video and written guides, for access by staff at any time.

Full integration

KOSMOS integrates with Kingsway’s DTM (Door Top Monitor) Ligature Alarm System and K-Alert Alarm Annunciation System, as well as all major annunciators, including SAS, Pinpoint and Guardian, ensuring seamless integration with your existing annunciation system.
