With the Healthcare Design Expo & Conference 2024 approaching, we are pleased to announce we will be showcasing some of the latest Kingsway Group innovations in ligature-resistant solutions designed specifically for behavioral health, psychiatric, and geriatric facilities.
Taking place from October 6 to 8 in Indianapolis, Indiana, this event brings together industry leaders to explore market-leading products, solutions, and new ideas to enhance both patient safety and facility operations.
At Kingsway Group, we are committed to helping all behavioral health facilities preserve patient dignity while improving safety. Through our 7-Step De-Risk Process, we offer a comprehensive approach to truly understanding the unique needs of your facility, setting the standard for any potential projects, and establishing a long-term partnership with proactive post-project communication. This process not only provides peace of mind to the staff but also fosters a more secure environment for patients.
Visitors who stop by our booth will have the opportunity to see live demonstrations of our ligature-resistant products, explore a new spin on technology for an improved therapeutic environment, and engage with our expert Project Consultants to find out how our solutions are setting new standards in patient care.
At Booth #479, we will showcase several ligature-resistant products designed to enhance patient safety and optimize facility operations in high-risk environments, and in this blog, we’ll show you 5 Kingsway Group innovations you can expect to see at the Healthcare Design Expo in Indianapolis!
1. Ligature-Resistant SHOWER Door System for ensuite rooms
One of these is our ligature-resistant ensuite SHOWER Door System, a high-strength yet compassionately designed doorset that provides a secure solution for patient bathrooms, reducing the risk of self-harm while offering simple maintenance.
2. SWING DTM: Door Top Monitor Alarmed Door
Attendees will also have a chance to explore our ligature-alarmed door solutions, with a special look at the SWING DTM (Door Top Monitoring System). This product combines ligature-resistant & anti-barricade design with an integrated ligature monitor alarm system at the door’s top edge to minimize the risk of patient suicide in challenging environments.
3. Ligature-Resistant Division 10 Products
These products serve high-risk washroom areas in behavioral health facilities by reducing the risk of ligature attachment to protect vulnerable patients. With seating, dispensers, mirrors, handrails and more, our Division 10 range provides durable and safe performance in challenging environments.
Ligature-resistant technology products at Healthcare Design
As we move into the future of design for behavioral healthcare, it’s important to explore different opportunities for integrating new technology into your facility and practice.
At the Kingsway booth this year at HCD, you’ll have the chance to see two of our latest technology products and learn about the benefits they bring in terms of supporting patient wellbeing and minimizing ligature risks through proactive monitoring.
4. KOSMOS Smart Monitoring System
The next generation in patient monitoring software, KOSMOS provides full monitoring of all ligature alarms within a ward and enables proactive staff intervention through early warning indicators that an incident may be about to occur. In addition, KOSMOS logs a full audit trail of door activity, staff observations, and alarm activations to assist management teams in reviewing patient care quality and identifying key trends on wards.
5. SERENITY Interactive Panel
One of the most anticipated products on display at Healthcare Design 2024 is the new Kingsway SERENITY Interactive Panel. This user-centered touchscreen panel takes the integration of technology and patient wellbeing to the next level in behavioral health environments. Its customizable interface allows patients to personalize their environment by offering a sense of control and assisting in relaxation through various features such as music, soundscapes, pictures, lighting and more.
