We continue our ‘Meet The Team’ blog series as we invite Shane McCaslin for a chat to find out more about him and his role as a Project Consultant at Kingsway Group.
Hello Shane, thanks for joining us today and welcome to the Kingsway blog! How have you found things since joining Kingsway Group as a Project Consultant?
I’ve really enjoyed my time with Kingsway thus far. The team is motivated, encouraging, helpful, and great to work with. It is a positive work environment and I appreciate the culture that has been established here. Happy to be a part of it and make a difference. I like my role as a Project Consultant, it suits me well. I enjoy being out and about with customers, as well as making an impact for the patients and staff that we serve.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how it led to your role at Kingsway?
I was in the automatic door industry for 4 years and I learned about the service side of things before then moving into Sales. Along the way, I realized I was ready for a new challenge and new role to fulfil my career goals. Kingsway was the perfect fit, all things considered. I also have a passion for helping others and working with those with disabilities. I used to work for a non-profit that provided services to people with Autism, so it seemed like a cool fit to stay in sales as well as doors, but tie in the mental health aspect. I also have a belief in Kingsway’s vision and product line, as well as the leadership in place. It allowed me to feel comfortable making the move.
Which regions of the US does your role cover?
13 states in the Northeast. From Virginia to Maine.
What’s your biggest ambitions for the role?
My ambitions are to help every customer that I come across, be a great teammate to everyone at Kingsway, and go above & beyond to help Kingsway’s safety solutions benefit a greater number of people.
What’s the most rewarding part of your role for you personally?
Winning projects for Kingsway and knowing the benefit this will bring to the patients involved. Also, making a living to support myself and my family.
Thank you for chatting with us today, Shane! To round things off, what are your main interests and passions outside of work?
I love anything to do with sports, particularly playing Golf and Soccer. I enjoy going to the beach, spending time with my girlfriend, friends, and family, hit up a local pub, and anything outdoorsy; walking, exercising, fishing, hiking on a trail, etc. I also enjoy visiting new restaurants and trying new foods, and traveling to different states for weekend getaways.
