Thanks to its unique ‘SwingThru’ Strike Plate and double-action continuous ‘SwingHinge’, staff can open the door outwards in seconds with no need to unlock the door first and with no override toolkits required, saving crucial seconds during life-threatening incidents.

How the SWING Anti-Barricade Door System works
The SWING Anti-Barricade Door System provides staff with fast and controlled access to patient rooms in emergency situations, opening outwards in seconds to overcome barricading incidents with no need to retract the lock bolt. Watch the video demonstration to see how it works.
Simple-to-operate removable Anti-Barricade Door Stop
In the event of a barricade, staff unlock the ‘SwingStop’ Anti-Barricade Door Stop with a single turn of the Kingsway Staff Key, allowing the door leaf to open outwards away from the barricade. The innovative ‘SwingThru Strike Plate’ means there is no need to retract the door lock bolt first, and no need for cumbersome override tool kits.
This simple-to-use but effective system allows staff to gain access to the service user room in seconds.
Ligature alarm capabilities
Anti-Barricade Door solutions with Ligature Monitoring capabilities
To reduce the ligature risks present further, SWING is fully compatible with our SENTRY Full Door Edge Alarm System. Developed alongside mental health facilities to support clinical teams in improving the safety of those in their care, SENTRY is an assistive technology that alerts staff when a ligature attempt takes place against any of the door edges.
When fitted with a ligature alarm system, SWING is fully compatible with Kingsway’s KOSMOS Smart Monitoring System, allowing clinical teams to fully monitor ligature alarms and record an audit trail of patient activity and staff observations to help management teams review patient care quality and highlight key trends on wards, such as service users leaving their rooms at specific times during the night or remaining in their room more than usual.

Yes, SWING is anti-barricade by design meaning it can open in both directions. A ‘SwingStop’ provides single-action usage during normal operation. In the event of a barricade, staff can unlock and fold back the SwingStop which will allow the door leaf to open outwards. The video below demonstrates SWING’s simple operation.
Yes, SWING can be fitted with a Door Top Monitor (DTM) or our SENTRY Full Door Edge Alarm System covering the door’s top, leading, and bottom edge.
