This data can help management teams review patient care quality and highlight key trends on wards, such as service users leaving their rooms at specific times during the night or remaining in their room more than usual.

Early warnings & UI

Early warning indicators

KOSMOS is uniquely able to detect and alert staff to door tampering, a potential sign of patient distress, helping staff to proactively monitor and identify early-warning indicators to address them before a ligature attempt takes place.

User friendly interface and bespoke floorplan

KOSMOS provides clinical teams with a visual representation of the ward via a bespoke ward-floorplan and live monitoring interface that clearly displays the alarm status of each ligature alarmed door within the ward.

Alarm triggering and door isolation

The KOSMOS interface provides status monitoring for each ligature alarmed door and, if a ligature is detected, KOSMOS will trigger an alarm providing a visual and audible alert to staff. The interface will clearly display the location of the ligature incident allowing quick clinical response.

If a ligature alarmed door has been isolated, e.g. for door maintenance purposes or if a service user has been placed under constant observation, the KOSMOS software will clearly indicate the door alarm is not being monitored. Ward staff can then reactivate the status monitoring when intended.

Audit trail

KOSMOS logs a full audit trail of door and vision panel activity, providing clinical teams with valuable data for future review to help highlight potential problem areas.

Network connectivity

The KOSMOS Smart Monitoring System forms a standalone hardwired network and does not need to connect to a facility’s IT network. KOSMOS stores collected data locally within its own system and this data is owned by the facility.

Fault detection and testing reminders

With life-critical systems it is vital that any faults are promptly detected and rectified. KOSMOS monitors its own network and can detect faults within the system, whilst built-in reminders let staff know when to test the alarmed doors within the ward.

Training & integration

KOSMOS training for staff

Kingsway Group provide full training to staff on KOSMOS to ensure its functions are completely understood. Bespoke training will be provided as well as online resources, including video and written guides, for access by staff at any time.

Full integration

KOSMOS integrates with Kingsway’s SENTRY Full Door Edge Alarm System and and all major annunciation systems, including SAS, Pinpoint and Guardian, ensuring seamless integration with your existing annunciation system.
