The new Austen House Low Secure CAMHS Unit for Southern Health NHS Trust had a full internal doorset package supplied by Kingsway Group after detailed collaboration with the design team to ensure that the best possible product solutions were selected.

The SWITCH Anti-Barricade Doors System was selected as having the unique ability to open outwards on the hinge side in an emergency which allows staff to stand in the ‘barricade green-zone’. The SWITCH doorsets were fitted with the Smart internal access control release which gives more freedom to patients whilst allowing staff to track movements and audit actions.

The Door Top Ligature Monitors were also integrated into the Smart system to increase patient safety and meet the NHS Trust’s duty of care obligations. The integrating of these essential life-saving features into a single system is a huge improvement on standard stand-alone access control and demonstrates the ability of Kingsway Group as leaders in anti-ligature solutions to deliver complex projects on time with full customer satisfaction.
