It was Kingsway Group’s innovative approach to design and collaboration which meant we were the chosen door system supplier for the refurbishment of Walker Close, Bungalow 3 and 4, on behalf of the Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
The full internal doorset package included our double action anti-barricade SWING door system with patented SwingHinge, as well as our versatile SOLO single action doorset throughout the bedrooms, clinic rooms, and offices. Uniquely designed glazed side panels, bespoke to Kingsway, complemented the SOLO complete door set in the communal areas.
Our unique ligature resistant STOW doors were utilised throughout the corridors, selected by the client for their unique ability to be stowed safely away into a dedicated pocket frame and allowing staff to easily and safely lock the door in the open position to prevent the door being misused.
To complete the refurbishment, our waterproof SHOWER anti-ligature door system provides a stylish and safe finish to the en-suite area, complete with our patented full height hinge mechanism and anti-trap rubber fin to the frame. All of our door-systems were fully integrated with the Salto Access Control system providing an additional level of safety and support for staff throughout these facilities.
Bungalow 3 and Bungalow 4, expertly developed by Mixbrow Construction and opened in January 2021 and October 2020 respectively, offer inpatient assessment and support for adults with complex and challenging learning disabilities.
