Anti-ligature
Anti-ligature en-suite bathroom door for mental health washrooms
SHOWER’s innovative MegaHinge keeps the potential for entrapment points to a minimum and reduces the risk of ligature attachment through careful design, helping to improve patient safety within one of the most high-risk areas of a mental health facility.
The elegantly designed anti-ligature leaf panel provides a means of preserving patient privacy and dignity when using en-suite facilities.
Creating a therapeutic & safe environment
SHOWER can be finished with bespoke imagery or a range of colours across the entirety of the leaf. The introduction of calming landscapes or art pieces into the ward environment helps create a more welcoming, therapeutic environment that can help aid patient recovery journeys.
Limitless customisation
Creating a therapeutic, safe environment in mental health bathrooms
The ligature-resistant panel is manufactured from high-strength polycarbonate and delivers a highly durable, shatter proof, and impact-resistant solution that can be finished with custom imagery or a range of colors across the entirety of the leaf.
The introduction of calming landscapes or art pieces into the ward environment helps create a more welcoming, therapeutic environment to contribute to patient recovery journeys.
Easy to maintain and simple cleaning
Through simplistic yet innovative design, SHOWER’s MegaHinge mechanism allows for straightforward operational maintenance while resisting corrosion and the effects of moisture.
The MegaHinge system and the smooth polycarbonate panel together offer an easy-to-clean and hygienic solution for behavioral health shower and bathroom facilities. In the event of damage, the MegaHinge system keeps downtime on wards to a minimum by allowing for swift replacement of the leaf panel.
Third-Party Testing
Independent robustness and stress testing
The new SHOWER Door System was subjected to independent stress testing by Warringtonfire. Over 3kN of force was exerted on the SHOWER Door System in a linear motion to replicate the strenuous force that may be placed upon the door in challenging environments.
The SHOWER assembly performed remarkably well during the tests, flexing back to its original form after the force was removed with no significant damage and no patient safety risks arising as a result of the tests. Thanks to its high strength design, the SHOWER assembly comfortably withstood the maximum force the test rig was able to exert (over 3kN) and remained fit for use thereafter.
Independent flammability testing
The leaf material’s resistance to fire was independently tested by Impact Solutions, achieving rating V1 to UL94. This rating signifies that the leaf material will self-extinguish after the flame is removed and will not cause any flaming drip flaming.
