Kingsway Group were appointed by East London NHS Foundation Trust to provide a full suite of anti-ligature and anti-barricade complete door systems for this eight-bed secure unit serving the Luton and Dunstable community.
Working closely in partnership with the Trust, lead consultants, Castons and main contractors T&B (Contractors) Ltd we looked to define the needs of the service users and the aims of the project in order to be able to recommend the right door systems. This resulted in us implementing the Kingsway SWING Anti-Barricade Complete Door System, SOLO Signle Action Doorset, SHOWER en-suite door systems and Doc M-Pack washroom items.
As this secure ward is to be used to accommodate young people, our Secure Customisable Vision Panels help bring a level of vibrancy and personalisation designed to help remove the institutional feel a ward can sometimes create. Working with the Trust, we produced a range of images based on wishes of the clinical team to include woodland, plant and water themes.
The refurbishment project was completed and handed over in October 2022.
