Jordan Cross has quickly settled into his role of Business Development at Kingsway Group, playing a key part in our efforts to reduce risk in mental health environments throughout Australia. We invited Jordan for a chat to find out more about him and his role, enjoy!

Hello Jordan, thanks for joining us today and welcome to the Kingsway blog! We’re pleased to have you with us as the newest member of the team here in Australia. How have you found things since joining Kingsway Group?
Since joining the new job, I have been impressed by the collaborative and supportive nature of our team. The colleagues I work with are highly skilled and genuinely committed to the organization’s mission. Knowing that our efforts contribute to enhancing the well-being and safety of patients is a powerful motivator and makes me proud to be a part of this team.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how it led to your role at Kingsway?
My background in sales and real estate provided a strong foundation for my role in Business Development. As a real estate agent, I honed skills in client relationship management, negotiation, and customer service. These skills are highly transferable, and I now apply them to identify potential business partners, build relationships, and offer tailored solutions in my current role.
Could you tell us a bit about your day-to-day at Kingsway?
In a business development role, my day-to-day activities revolve around identifying growth opportunities, building relationships, and driving business expansion. I start with planning, engage in market research, generate leads, conduct customer calls, and work on proposals. Networking, collaboration, and follow-up are crucial.
Which regions does your role cover?
I cover all regions of Australia in my role. This nationwide coverage allows me to engage with clients and partners across the entire country, ensuring that we can effectively support and serve our stakeholders regardless of their location.
What’s your biggest ambitions for the role?
My biggest ambition in the role is to be a driving force that creates lasting partnerships built on trust, mutual benefit, and an understanding of our partners’ needs. With a comprehensive understanding of the full range of solutions & products we offer, I want to be a trusted advisor to clients, helping them in their facilities to create a safer environment for patients and staff. This means providing them with the knowledge and guidance to make informed decisions that protect their patients, business, and employees.
Which members of the Kingsway team do you work most closely with in your role?
In my role, I work most closely with Heath Wiggins, our Project Consultant. Heath plays a critical role in our projects, and our collaboration is instrumental in ensuring the success of our initiatives.
Which one(s) of our core values of Happy Customers / Winning Team / Perfect Products are most closely aligned to your role?
Happy Customers: Business development revolves around understanding our customers’ needs, addressing their pain points, and providing them with tailored solutions that meet or exceed their expectations. Building strong, trust-based relationships with our clients and partners is a key part of my role, and it directly contributes to the happiness and satisfaction of our customers.

Outside of work, some of my main interests include:
• Travel: I have a strong passion for exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines.
• Fitness: Staying physically active is important to me, so I engage in regular exercise, whether it’s hitting the gym, or going for a run.
• Personal Growth: I’m always on the lookout for opportunities to expand my knowledge & skills.
