In 2019 Kingsway Group were approached by our partners at Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust with the challenge of wanting to achieve a robust door solution but without the institutionalised feel their provision currently had at Northside House, a medium secure unit.
Sitting down with their team, our Project Consultants went through our three step process to fully Define, Design and Deliver the best solution for the clinical team and service users. This resulted in us agreeing to implement the Kingsway SECLUSION Complete Door System with Beech veneer, which is our most robust solution coming with a 5-point locking system and secure vision panel.
Reflecting on the project, David Bird, Deputy Head of Strategic Estates commented, “Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust have standardised the fitting of Kingsway doorsets on their new and refurbishment capital projects”.
David continued, “In 2020 the Trust fitted three seclusion room doorsets in Northside House, their medium secure unit in Norwich. The doors were chosen not only for their strength and robustness, but also for their aesthetics as these were replacing existing steel doors which looked intuitional and unwelcoming. The doors have proven to be ‘fit for purpose’ and have been challenged and tested by our service users and have performed excellently.”
